May Give: Moms for Moms

This May, we are honored to once again support Moms for Moms NYC, a nonprofit organization that uplifts and empowers single mothers navigating the challenges of parenthood without a support system. Based in New York City, Moms for Moms is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to address the often-overlooked needs of women in vulnerable situations—those facing poverty, homelessness, or abuse—by offering access to essential prenatal and postnatal supplies. We are proud to support an organization making a tangible, heartfelt difference in the lives of mothers and their families.

Moms for Moms NYC provides two carefully curated care packages that address the physical and emotional needs of new mothers and their babies: the Newborn Baby Bundle and the Postpartum Recovery Kit. These packages include critical items like diapers, wipes, infant clothing, hygiene products, and postpartum recovery essentials—things that are often out of reach for mothers living in poverty or in crisis. What sets Moms for Moms apart is their dedication to dignity and care. Each package is assembled with love, with the goal of helping mothers feel seen, supported, and empowered as they begin one of life’s most demanding journeys.

Founded in 2014 by Danielle Krupa, Moms for Moms was born out of a deeply personal understanding of the struggle single mothers often face. Danielle, inspired by the perseverance of her own single mother, created the organization while pregnant with her second child. What started as a small effort to help other moms like her own has since grown into a city-wide initiative with lasting impact. Today, Moms for Moms has provided over 4,600 care packages, distributing them through direct service and partnerships with top NYC organizations including NYCHA, WIN, Sanctuary for Families, and Children’s Aid.

The need for support is profound. In the U.S., 1 in 4 children under the age of 18 are being raised by single mothers, with nearly 45% of these families living below the poverty line. In New York City alone, over 15,000 single mothers give birth each year—many without access to even the most basic necessities. Public assistance programs often fall short when it comes to postpartum and infant care, leaving mothers to navigate a critical time with limited resources. Moms for Moms steps in to fill this essential gap, ensuring every mother has what she needs to care for herself and her newborn with confidence and hope. Since its founding, the organization has distributed over $750,000 worth of goods and continues to grow its reach and impact. More than just providing supplies, Moms for Moms is rooted in the belief that every mother deserves to feel supported and celebrated—no matter her circumstances—helping women embrace new motherhood with dignity, joy, and a renewed sense of community.
